The Cat is Out of the Bag: Introducing The Paper Bag Club!

What is it?
It is a monthly program that is all about creativity – YOUR creativity! Sign-ups begin December 9th, 2011 and end at 4pm on January 17th, 2012. It is a 12 month program.

What do we do in the Paper Bag Club?
Each month you will receive a total of 2 yards of feature fabrics – It may be 2 yards of one fabric or different cuts of up to 4 fabrics. But the fabric(s) in the bag are a mystery and it is up to you to decide what to do with them! You have one month to make something from the piece(s) in the bag. When the club meets, we will have refreshments, Show-and-Tell and door prizes, and you’ll get your next bag of fabric.

When does the Paper Bag Club meet?
It meets the THIRD Thursday of the month. For the first class, you have your choice of a 2pm class OR a 6pm class. Whichever class time you choose the first time is your class time for the rest of the program; the feature fabric(s) are different for each class, so we ask that you stick to your original class time for this program.

How much is it?
It is $20 per month for the bag of first-run, high quality fabric you know and expect from us. At current fabric prices, it is slightly cheaper than 2 yards of fabric outright.

The Rules
1. You don’t get to choose the fabrics, or trade them with another class – that is part of the challenge!
2. Your project can be anything. It could be a quilt, an article of clothing, a purse, a tablerunner, etc. The possibilities are pretty endless and it’s up to you to decide what you want to do! Quilts do not need to be quilted; finished tops are perfectly acceptable.
3. You must use the fabric provided. You don’t need to use the entirety of the piece(s), but you do you have to use all the piece(s) provided. You may of course add more fabrics, but you may not omit any of the original fabrics.
4. Your project must feature the provided fabrics. In other words, the fabrics given cannot be used as stuffing, batting, interfacing, backing, lining, or anywhere they don’t show.

10% and punches given at the time of the meeting for participants. Consignment items not included.
