 * * * * * More fabrics have come in this week! The batiks must have found their way to port, because they are FINALLY here. This time, it was Batik Textiles that have arrived. I am dying to try out a couple of patterns from the past with these batiks. The one I want to see in batiks the most is Paris Flea Market. You may remember the pattern from a few years ago when 3 Sisters came out with a line of the same name. Look through your old patterns...you may see a pattern in a new light just by using new fabrics. We have lots of great fabrics arriving all the time, so come in soon and see whats new! * * * * * Deco Rose from Blank Quilting This is our Staff Favorite. It is full of gorgeous blues and purples with lots of bright accents. We see all sorts of great things made from this colorful fabric...purses, quilts and pillowcases to name a few. The possibilities are endless! * * * * * Gee's Bend hand-dyed solids from Windham Fabrics have arrived! Modeled after the great Gee's Bend quilts made in the 1930's, these fabrics are all hand-dyed and go with traditional as well as contemporary. Try them with batiks too! Hand-dyed fabrics bring a whole new demension to quilts. A note about hand-dyed fabrics: be sure to wash them separately before you quilt to get rid of any excess dye and to prevent bleeding. The dyes are beautiful, rich, and fully saturated. Absolutely gorgeous! * * * * * More Batiks have arrived! Island Batiks and Batik Textiles in lots of great colors and prints! There are also some Indian batiks too. * * * * * Old Primrose Inn by Moda After all the dramatic color that has come in, Old Primrose Inn is a nice, soft change of pace. Chocolate brown, warm tans, soft teals, butter yellow and gentle pinks work together beautifully in this line. It reminds me of a country bed and breakfast - one that would have antique quilts on the beds and great biscuits for breakfast! We have the layer cakes and charm packs to go with this pretty group. * * * * * I Believe kits This is the I Believe quilt designed by Nancy Halverson. Carol Nelson has made it for the shop. We have kits with all the fabric for the top, binding and all the embellishments that you will need to make this great quilt. The cost is $100.00 and includes the book, I Believe. This not only includes the quilt in it, but lots of other great projects. * * * * * Pumpkins are back! The Pumpkin block of the month is back at The Cotton Patch! If you missed this really cute block of the month last time, here is your opportunity to give it a try. It will be $25.00 to start and $25.00 a month for 11 months. The last month you will not be charged, and you will get your borders and sashing for free. You can't beat that! Most of all I feel thankful for all the wonderful, talented people I get to work with every day and the great customers that come into the store.
